Safety Guide
Your safety matters. Remote control features can be exciting, intimate, and fun — but they should always be built on mutual trust, communication, and enthusiastic consent.
Consent is not optional. It is the foundation of every interaction.
1 Get Clear Consent Before Connecting
Before anyone gains access to control a device:
- Ask for explicit permission.
- Clearly discuss what the control session involves.
- Make sure everyone understands how to disconnect or end the session.
- Never pressure someone into sharing access.
Consent should always be:
- Freely given
- Informed
- Specific
- Enthusiastic
- Reversible at any time
2 Consent Can Be Withdrawn Anytime
Anyone can change their mind.
If someone says:
- "Stop"
- "I'm done"
- "Not anymore"
- "Disconnect"
—or otherwise indicates they no longer want to continue, the session should end immediately.
No one ever has to explain why they want to stop.
No is a complete sentence.
If what's needed is a brief breather rather than ending things outright, use Pause & check in — it freezes every device in the session immediately without ending it, and any participant can trigger it, not just the device owner. Resume only when everyone's ready.
3 Respect Boundaries
Discuss expectations before every session.
- Comfortable intensity levels
- Maximum session length
- Times when control is not appropriate
- Activities that are off limits
- Safe words or stop signals
Boundaries should always be respected.
Your intensity ceiling is yours to set. Every device's control window has its own safety-limit slider, separate from the normal intensity control — set your own maximum for that device and it holds firm no matter who's controlling it. Agreeing on comfortable intensity levels out loud is still worth doing, but this backs that conversation up with something no one else's control can override.
4 Never Surprise Someone
Do not control someone's device unexpectedly — even if permission has been granted. Communication is key.
Never surprise anyone with inputs they didn't consent to or activities they didn't consent to.
Always ensure:
- They know a session is about to begin.
- They are in an appropriate environment.
- They are ready and willing.
Unexpected activation can cause embarrassment, stress, or physical discomfort.
5 Use Safe Words or Stop Signals
Agree on a stop system before every session.
Alternative stop signals may include:
- Sending a specific emoji
- Pressing a stop button
- Disconnecting the session
6 Know the Emergency Stop
Every participant should know:
- How to immediately disconnect.
- How to turn the device off.
- How to remove power if necessary.
- How to regain local control.
The Emergency Stop is always available during a session — it ends all device activity instantly, for every device, with no confirmation dialog slowing it down.
If you ever feel uncomfortable or unsafe, use it immediately. If what you actually need is a shorter breather rather than ending things, Pause & check in (see Consent Can Be Withdrawn Anytime above) is the gentler option — it stops everything without closing the session out.
7 Protect Your Privacy
Only share remote access with people you trust. Never allow yourself to be pressured into sharing access. If someone pressures you, block and report them.
Protect your account by:
- Using a strong, unique password.
- Enabling multi-factor authentication (MFA) — VibeSync supports authenticator-app 2FA from your Profile.
- Reviewing connected users regularly.
- Removing access when relationships or circumstances change.
You're also always in control of your own data: Download my data in Profile gives you a complete copy of what VibeSync holds on you, and Delete my account permanently removes it — both without needing to contact anyone.
Never share your login credentials.
No moderator, administrator, or staff member will ever ask for your password. If anyone does, report them immediately and do not provide your credentials.
8 Stay Aware of Your Surroundings
Avoid remote sessions while:
- Driving
- Operating machinery
- Caring for young children
- Performing tasks requiring full attention
- In situations where distraction could create a safety risk
Choose a safe, comfortable environment whenever possible.
9 Communicate Throughout the Session
Check in regularly.
Questions like:
- "How are you feeling?"
- "Is this still okay?"
- "Do you want to continue?"
- "Anything you'd like to change?"
help ensure everyone remains comfortable, respected, and engaged.
10 Aftercare Matters
When the session ends:
- Check in emotionally.
- Discuss what felt good.
- Talk about anything uncomfortable.
- Share feedback for future sessions.
Good communication helps build trust and improves future experiences.
11 Community Expectations
By using remote control features, you agree to:
- Treat others with respect.
- Honor consent at all times.
- Respect boundaries.
- Never attempt to bypass another person's control or safety features.
- Never harass, threaten, coerce, manipulate, or pressure others into participating.
Violations of these expectations may result in suspension or permanent removal of remote control privileges or your account.
If someone crosses these lines, report them directly from their profile or the message itself — reports go straight to staff and are never visible to the person you reported. You can follow a report's progress, without anyone's identity attached, from the Trust & Safety Center tab in your dashboard.
12 Remember
If consent isn't clear, the answer is no.
Maybe is no.
Only a clear, enthusiastic yes — given freely and without pressure — is a yes.
Every participant deserves to feel safe, respected, and in control throughout every interaction.
