Using VibeSync with Bluefy
The short version: on an iPhone or iPad, open VibeSync inside the free Bluefy app instead of Safari. Bluefy is what lets a website talk to your Bluetooth device. Everything else on VibeSync works the same way it does anywhere else.
Only using The Handy? It connects over the internet, so you don't need Bluefy at all. See Other ways to connect.
1 Why you need Bluefy
VibeSync connects to Bluetooth devices straight from your browser, using a browser feature called Web Bluetooth. Safari doesn't include it. Apple also requires every browser on iPhone and iPad to run on Safari's engine underneath, so Chrome, Edge and Firefox for iOS don't have it either, however they look.
Bluefy is a free browser app for iPhone and iPad that adds Web Bluetooth to that engine. You use it like any other browser: type in the address, sign in, and VibeSync runs inside it.
Bluefy is a separate, third-party app. It's made by PNN SOFT, not by VibeSync, and VibeSync can't see or control anything it does. Its App Store listing says it may collect location, user content and diagnostics data that isn't linked to your identity, and rates it 17+ because it's a full web browser. Read its privacy policy on the App Store page if you want the details.
2 Before you start
- An iPhone or iPad that meets Bluefy's requirement of iOS or iPadOS 12 or later, as shown on its App Store page.
- Bluetooth switched on in Control Centre or Settings.
- A charged device, powered on. Most devices only show up to be connected while nothing else is connected to them.
- The brand's own phone app closed or disconnected. A device can usually only talk to one thing at a time, so if the manufacturer's app is holding the connection, VibeSync won't find it.
- Your VibeSync account, signed up and verified. If you haven't made one yet, register here. VibeSync is 18+ only.
Not sure your device is supported? Check the device compatibility checker first.
3 Set up Bluefy
-
Install Bluefy. Get Bluefy – Web BLE Browser from the App Store. It's free.
-
Open it and allow Bluetooth. The first time, iOS asks whether Bluefy may use Bluetooth. Tap OK. Without this, no website can see your device. If you tapped Don't Allow by mistake, see Troubleshooting for how to switch it back on.
-
Go to VibeSync inside Bluefy. Type vibesync.co.uk into Bluefy's address bar and sign in.
Bluefy is its own browser, so it doesn't share anything with Safari. You'll need to sign in again, and if you use two-factor authentication you may be asked for a code again.
-
Check that Bluetooth is available. On the Sessions tab, find the Your devices panel and open Browser support. If you see a small No Bluetooth here tag next to it, you're not in a browser with Web Bluetooth. You've most likely opened VibeSync in Safari or another iOS browser, so open it from inside Bluefy instead.
Tip: add VibeSync to Bluefy's bookmarks so next time you can open it from there. It saves you landing on the Safari version by habit.
4 Connect your device
Everything here happens in the Your devices panel on the Sessions tab. You'll see the same panel whether or not you're in a session. If it's folded away, the Scan and Add shortcuts at the top of the panel still work.
Most Bluetooth devices (Lovense, We-Vibe, Kiiroo and others)
Switch your device on and put it where it can be found. Check the device's own instructions if you're unsure how.
Tap Scan Bluetooth. You have to tap it yourself: browsers only allow a Bluetooth search to start from a tap.
Bluefy shows a list of nearby devices. Tap yours and confirm. If yours isn't in the list, see Troubleshooting.
When it's connected, it appears in the list and the counter at the top of the panel changes from None connected to 1 connected. Its control window is then available in your session.
Satisfyer
Satisfyer toys don't show up in a normal scan, so they have their own button. Tap Add Satisfyer instead and choose it from the list Bluefy shows. If it doesn't appear, VibeSync suggests this: reset its pairing (hold the button for about 15 seconds until you feel 5 quick pulses), then make it visible (hold for about 4 seconds until 2 pulses), and make sure the Satisfyer phone app isn't connected to it.
Heart rate monitors
Tap Heart rate to open the Heart rate & cut-off section and pick your monitor from the list. Bluetooth heart rate monitors need Bluefy on iPhone and iPad for the same reason devices do.
Connecting a device doesn't give anyone control of it. It only makes it available to you. Other people can control it only if you grant them that permission in a session, and you can take it back at any time. Before you start, find the Pause and Emergency stop controls and your device's safety-limit slider, and set the ceiling you're comfortable with. See Consent & safety in the Help Center.
5 Using a session in Bluefy
Create, join and run sessions exactly as you would anywhere else. See How sessions work. A few things are specific to using an iPhone or iPad:
- Keep Bluefy open and on screen. iOS pauses web pages that aren't in front of you, and the microphone stops working when an app moves to the background or the screen locks. Live control, chat and calls can all be affected, so stay in Bluefy for the whole session rather than switching apps.
- Stop the screen locking. Go to Settings → Display & Brightness → Auto-Lock and choose a longer time, or Never for the session. Switch it back afterwards.
- Some toys need the page awake. Satisfyer toys, for example, need a constant signal from the page to stay connected, so if Bluefy is paused they may drop the connection.
- Mind your battery. A lit screen, Bluetooth and a video call together use a lot of power. Start with a good charge or plug in.
- Allow the camera and microphone when asked. Voice and video in a session use them, and iOS asks the first time. See Voice & video calls for how calls connect.
- Know your device's own off switch. It works even if your phone or the browser doesn't, so don't assume a dropped connection will switch the device off for you.
6 Troubleshooting
| Problem | Try this |
|---|---|
| "No Bluetooth here" tag, or a message saying Web Bluetooth needs a Chromium browser | You're not in Bluefy. Safari and Chrome for iPhone can't do Web Bluetooth. Open Bluefy, go to vibesync.co.uk from its address bar and sign in there. |
| iOS never asked about Bluetooth, or you tapped Don't Allow | Open Settings → Privacy & Security → Bluetooth (just Privacy on older versions of iOS) and switch Bluefy on. Then go back to Bluefy and scan again. |
| The device list is empty or your device isn't in it | Check that Bluetooth is on, the device is charged and switched on, and it isn't connected to another app (including the manufacturer's own). Switch the device off and on, move it close to your phone, and tap Scan Bluetooth again. |
| A Satisfyer toy isn't found | Use Add Satisfyer, not Scan Bluetooth, and follow the pairing reset steps in Connect your device. |
| It connects, then drops | Stay in Bluefy with the screen on (see Using a session in Bluefy). Switch Bluetooth off and on in Control Centre, force-close Bluefy and reopen it, and restart the device. Then connect again. |
| Your devices vanished after you switched apps or locked the phone | iOS paused the page while it was out of view. Tap Scan Bluetooth to reconnect. |
| The page won't load, or just keeps loading | Check your internet connection, then force-close and reopen Bluefy. If it keeps happening, update Bluefy in the App Store: iOS updates sometimes need a new version of the app. |
| You're signed out, or asked for a 2FA code again | Normal in Bluefy. It's a separate browser from Safari and doesn't share your sign-in with it. |
| No camera or microphone in a call | Allow them when Bluefy asks. If you said no, open Settings, find Bluefy in the app list and switch Camera and Microphone on. Stay on screen during the call. If the sound comes out of the wrong place, try disconnecting Bluetooth headphones to check. |
For problems that aren't specific to iPhone, see Troubleshooting in the Help Center.
7 Other ways to connect
- The Handy connects over the internet with its own connection key, so it works in any browser, Safari included. Open Connect with Intiface or Handy in the Your devices panel, enter your key and tap Connect.
- Android phones can use Chrome or another Chromium-based browser. No extra app is needed.
- Windows, Mac and Linux computers can use Chrome or Edge.
- Intiface Central isn't needed on iPhone or iPad. With Bluefy, Scan Bluetooth connects to your device directly.
The device compatibility checker lists every supported device and how each one connects.
